4.5T Tiny Home Trailer
With an ATM of 4500kg, this tiny home trailer chassis plan will give you a generous load capacity of up to 3430kg for your tiny home construction. A near full width compliant chassis with mudguards over the wheels to give the maximum load area possible. Room on the drawbar for a sizeable toolbox (construction details not included), air conditioner or other feature to be incorporated into your build.
The plans conform to the Australian National Code of Practice – Building Small Trailers (VSB1). Trailers built to comply with this code of practice can be registered for on-road use in Australia.
All our trailer plans are compliant with relevant ADRs, applicable in all states and territories for new trailer builds under RVS Regulation.
The plan includes a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) for ADR 62 – Drawbar.

This Tiny Home trailer is a strong, compliant base for your tiny home project. The design includes compliant drawbar & chassis design (Certificate of Compliance included), safety chains, drawbar mounted toolbox support (optional) and chequer plate bed (also optional). You can replace these optional items with construction materials of your choice – eg: marine ply flooring – without adversely affecting compliance.
The assembly guide will assist you in the construction and give you lots of guidance on brakes, axles, suspension and other components.
4.5T Tiny Home Trailer Plan Features
- Our part and assembly drawings are carefully detailed to include all the necessary dimensions.
- Drawings are all in PDF format and some DXF files assist with profile/laser cutting services.
- This trailer requires brakes on all wheels as well as an emergency brake unit (Brake-Away switch). We also recommend the use of an efficient handbrake.
- The plans are detailed for a 7.2m bed length. However, the chassis is compliant up to a maximum of 8.4m in length.
- Each manufactured component is drawn and clearly detailed for your convenience.
